Are you passionate about making a difference? Join us as a Communication Intern. Together with YKAN, you will get involved in the MERA (Mangrove Ecosystem Restoration Alliance) program, a multi-stakeholder platform aimed at achieving sustainable protection and management of mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia. MERA's partnership approach allows for the integration of mangrove ecosystem governance and planning at the village, regency, and provincial levels, ensuring that mangrove protection and management policies work synergistically and avoid overlap.
We’re Looking for You:
We are looking for a creative and proactive Communication Intern to help the communication strategy of the MERA projects (integrated coastal management) at the national and site levels. This role involves creating visual materials such as infographics, posters, and social media content, designing illustrations for reports or presentations, and producing videos related to conservation activities, including scriptwriting, shooting, editing, and post-production, help developing creative media, collaborate with the communication team to strengthen YKAN's brand, and handle basic administrative tasks related to the work.
The Communication Intern (MERA) reports to MERA Communication & Reporting Officer and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

What You’ll Bring:
· Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (minimum 5th semester) or graduated within the last 6 months.
· Preferred majors: Communications, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia, or related fields.
· Familiar in video editing software (Adobe Premiere or equivalent), and photo-editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
· Knowledge of AI tools for content creation and editing.
· Knowledge of basic design principles.
· Strong attention to detail, creativity.
· Familiarity with scriptwriting for video content is a plus.
What We Bring:
We offer meals and transport allowance per work day based on approved time sheet, and opportunities to contribute to our mission to preserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. If you are assigned to temporarily assist a YKAN activity outside your usual place of internship, YKAN will cover the costs, following YKAN business travel procedure.
